Maternity

Pre and post-natal medical examinations for mothers who live far from hospitals.

In Myanmar, there are no hospitals in rural areas, only health centers without medical staff, equipment and medicine where midwives help women give birth.
The city hospital is so far away that it only handles 28% of deliveries in the whole area, leaving many women excluded from pre-birth medical check-ups: ultrasound scans and examinations are essential to understand the degree of risk in the pregnancy and prevent dangerous situations for mother and baby.
Our medical staff reach remote villages with Mobile Clinic visits to monitor the pregnancy of all patients living in isolated villages: we carry out examinations and ultrasound scans and train midwives in recognising the signs of the most critical pregnancies in a timely manner.
